ratatouille with potato puree

My mom says that I always cook the same thing: mushy beans with too much cumin. It’s kind of true. For the Puchero yesterday, I made potaje de lentejas: lentils with onion, green pepper, eggplant, tomato, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, hot paprika, cumin, laurel, oregano, thyme…

My problem, besides the fact that I just love spices, is that I have no restraint when I’m cooking. I always end up adding a little of every spice and herb in the cupboard, and all my food tastes the same. But hey, everyone liked the lentils! I took a picture but they looked gross. Most of my food looks gross, since it’s all mushy wet legumes.

Anyway, I’ll post the pl├ítanos fritos (fried bananas) and pisto con pure de patatas (ratatouille with potato puree) that Yo made. They were delicious and they looked appetizing, too!
