ratatouille with potato puree

My mom says that I always cook the same thing: mushy beans with too much cumin. It’s kind of true. For the Puchero yesterday, I made potaje de lentejas: lentils with onion, green pepper, eggplant, tomato, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, hot paprika, cumin, laurel, oregano, thyme…

My problem, besides the fact that I just love spices, is that I have no restraint when I’m cooking. I always end up adding a little of every spice and herb in the cupboard, and all my food tastes the same. But hey, everyone liked the lentils! I took a picture but they looked gross. Most of my food looks gross, since it’s all mushy wet legumes.

Anyway, I’ll post the plátanos fritos (fried bananas) and pisto con pure de patatas (ratatouille with potato puree) that Yo made. They were delicious and they looked appetizing, too!
